Needs of overcoming for the development of information skills in the Faculty of Dentistry career
Abstract
Introduction: the overcoming of the Faculty of Stomatology career in the new knowledge society is today a challenge: the current economic, social and technological context causes changes to which also the universities must adapt; the current speed of knowledge transfered has generated increasingly greater demand for training by professionals and companies.
Development: this work is included in three fundamental stages, one of them stand outs for its importance as the New Information Society (1960-1989), in which the "information revolution" term is used to allude to the exponential growth of scientific and technical literature. The "Information Society", has its central axis in the management and diffusion of information and communications, more than in the generation of knowledge; it is organized on the basis "of the widespread use of information at low cost, for the data storage and transmission technologies". For the development of these stages, the following indicators were taken into account: centralization degree, procedures and ways of overcoming obstacles, access level and impact of the overcoming.
Recommendations: the proposal of the master´s work "Strategy of overcoming of the Faculty of Dentistry career for the development of competencies in the management of information and knowledge", it will follow the systematic and updated improvement of teachers in the teaching dental clinic of Ciego de AvilaDownloads
