The Chaga disease
Abstract
The bibliography was reviewed on the chagas disease, aiming at evidening the knowledge of doctors and nursis about this illnes due to its frequency in the American continent where many health professionals accomplish their mission. It was found that veclors are the major transmission form, al though transfusions in some urban areas have been described as its causative agent American trypanosomiasis is presented in an acute and chronic form alway seriousin characted due to its cardiovascular involvement although some other organs are also involved (digestive tract). Its causative agent is Trypanosoma Cruzi; and its reservuir being man as well as other mammals such as cats, dogs, pigs among, others. The rubbing of faeces of triatoma (a genus of blood-sucking bugs or sand flies (barbeiros) The incubation period ranges as from 5 to 14 days after the vector's bite; such illness can remain communicable during a lifetime. The diagnosis can be clinical, epidemiologic and that from lab tests.Downloads
