Imagenologic diagnosis of the meconial ileus.
Abstract
The meconial ileus is a small bowel obstruction that represents the third commonest cause of these obstructions in neonates, is the initial manifestation of the cystic fibrosis. In the last years the imagenologic studies have played an important role in the diagnosis of this disease. Investigations reveal that in meconial peritonitis patients the radiological findings constitute a source of diagnosis value, it shows the echography as a diagnosis method of choice with a global sensitivity that fluctuates between the 50 % and 80% and one specificity of 98%. A revision of Literature was carried out to update the subject in the imagenologic diagnosis of the meconial ileus and to present it as of consultation material.Downloads
