Mortalidad infantil en la provincia Ciego de Ávila durante el periodo 1998-2004.
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo retrospectivo de tipo mortalidad proporcional. Nuestro universo de estudio estuvo constituido por 233 defunciones en niños menores de 1 años en la provincia Ciego de Ávila durante el periodo 1998-2004. Se estudió la tendencia histórica de la mortalidad infantil, sus componentes, así como sus principales causas de muerte, los datos fueron obtenidos del departamento de estadística de la dirección provincial de salud, se concluyó que la mortalidad infantil ha tenido una tendencia descendente en la provincia en el periodo analizado, que ha existido un predominio de la mortalidad postneonatal sobre la mortalidad neonatal precoz y la mortalidad neonatal tardía en general y que las principales causas de muerte son las anomalías congénitas y las afecciones perinatales.
