Impactos de la globalización neoliberal en la salud de la población de los países en desarrollo
Abstract
Se realizó una revisión de la globalización neoliberal haciendo una reflexión histórica como proceso objetivo concreto configurado por el desarrollo económico-social de la humanidad y una valoración de sus impactos en la esfera de la salud humana comparando indicadores de salud entre un grupo de países desarrollados con relación a otro en desarrollo. A partir de las estadísticas sanitarias mundiales, de la Organización Mundial de la Salud, se definieron indicadores sanitarios que directamente expresan el nivel de salud alcanzado en una nación: la tasa de mortalidad de menores de un año, la razón de mortalidad materna por cada 100 000 nacidos vivos y la esperanza de vida al nacer, e indicadores que muestran la inversión presupuestaria anual realizada por los gobiernos al sector: el gasto total en salud como % del producto interno bruto y el gasto público per cápita en dólares internacionales. Se recurrió a métodos teóricos que propiciaron la triangulación como estrategia de discusión para contrastar la información e identificar puntos comunes que evidencien las diferencias y brechas existentes entre las naciones ricas y las naciones pobres, en detrimento de estas últimasDownloads
