La mortalidad neonatal es el componente más difícil de modificar de la mortalidad infantil. Los resultados dependen del trabajo de obstetras, neonatólogos, genetistas y médicos generales integrales. Se realiza un estudio observacional descriptivo retrospectivo que incluye 38 recién nacidos fallecidos en el Hospital Provincial Docente “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola”, de Ciego de Ávila, en el periodo comprendido desde enero de 2000 hasta diciembre de 2005, con el objetivo de valorar el comportamiento de la mortalidad neonatal en dicho periodo. Las variables analizadas fueron: peso, edad gestacional, Apgar al 5to minuto, además tasa de mortalidad y causas de muerte.Downloads
