Bioseguridad en cirugía maxilofacial
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio sobre los elementos más importantes de la Bioseguridad en la Cirugía Maxilofacial. Se precisaron los principales agentes biológicos capaces de producir enfermedades infecciosas durante los procedimientos quirúrgicos y se clasificaron de acuerdo con el nivel de seguridad biológica. Se determinaron los aspectos relacionados con el huésped dentro de la cadena epidemiológica y se establecieron las medidas para el control ambiental de estos microorganismos en el área de trabajo. Concluimos que el virus de inmunodeficiencia humana y los priones son los agentes de mayor peligrosidad y letalidad; es imprescindible cumplir con la protección individual y colectiva para controlar a los hospederos; y ante la necesidad de prevenir la infecciones cruzadas, debemos cumplir con las Precauciones Universales y las correctas normas de aislamiento que disminuyen el riesgo biológico en el ambiente del cirujano maxilofacial.
