Comportamiento de la infección connatal en el servicio cerrado de Neonatología del Hospital Provincial “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola” durante los años 2008 al 2010.
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento de la infección connatal en el servicio cerrado de Neonatología del Hospital Provincial “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola” durante los años 2008 al 2010. La prevalencia de infección connatal fue de 2,6 x c/1000 nacidos vivos mientras que la letalidad fue de un 16,1%. La localización respiratoria fue la más frecuente, el germen que se aisló fundamentalmente fue la E Coli y la terapéutica de primera línea impuesta fue ceftriaxone y amikacina. Los síntomas y signos que se observaron en su mayoría fueron las alteraciones de la piel, manifestaciones respiratorias y digestivas. La infección connatal se comportó de manera similar en varones y hembras, fue más frecuente en el pretérmino, en los recién nacidos de menos de 2500 gramos y en cuanto al apgar a los 5 minutos no se encontró correspondencia con otros estudios. Fue más frecuente la infección en los nacidos por cesárea. Los factores de riesgo asociados fueron la rotura prematura de la membrana, seguida de las sepsis vaginal y la corioamnionitis.
