Admission by traumatisms in the Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit during five years.

A descriptive observational study that included five years, which sample was constituted by 88 children that were admitted by traumatic causes in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the General Provincial teaching Hospital "Roberto Rodriguez". It was determined that the 81,7% of the admissions were due to craneoencephalic traumatisms being the more frequent traffic accidents and the falls from high in children older than 5 years and among 2 to 4 years respectively, profound comma in CET was related with greater frequency in concomitant craneal fracture existence. The global mortality of the serie was 68% present above all in politraumatized with CET associated to letal injuries of organs and intrabdominal viscera due to in a high percentage to traffic accidents.Downloads
