Prune-Belly Syndrome. A case presentation

Abstract

The Prune-Belly syndrome is a distinct entity of unknown etiology, consisting of a spectrum of congenital malformations able to lead the pregnancy to abortion, or post-natal complications usually urinary of varying degrees of morbidity / mortality, which will determine the outcome of the infant born with this condition. Although it is a clinical picture with a very low mortality, the consequences are different for health and quality of infants life. In this research a case of Prune-Belly that was born at 36 weeks gestation, who presented the classic findings of this rare syndrome is reported.
