Diagnosis of Simple Chronic Glaucoma by the Sampaolesi
Keywords:
CHRONIC GLAUCOMA, SAMPAOLESI CURVEAbstract
A descriptive-observacional study was done so as to know the role of some clinical-epidemiological variables in 42 patients suspected of chronic glaucoma. As many as 71.6% of the patients under study were aged between 40-70 years. The female sex was the most affected (61.9%) and (83.3%) were of white complexion.
The Sampaolesi curve was useful for early diagnosis of 63.1% of eyes and for the detection of 36.9% suspicious individuals of the disease. The early diagnosis of chronic glaucoma was confirmed in 74.0% of the patients.
