Comportamiento clínico epidemiológico de la neumonía adquirida en la comunidad en el anciano en el área de salud “Máximo Gómez”, 2008

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo retrospectivo para determinar el comportamiento clínico-epidemiológico de la neumonía adquirida en la comunidad en el anciano en el área de salud “Julio Castillo” del municipio Chambas en el periodo comprendido entre el 1ro de enero del 2007 al 31 de diciembre 2007. El universo de estudio fueron los 124 adultos mayores pertenecientes a los consultorios médicos de la familia 17-18 del área de salud antes mencionada y la muestra estuvo constituida por 62 pacientes que presentaron síntomas, signos e infiltrado radiológicos de neumonía adquirida en la comunidad. Con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento clínico-epidemiológico de la neumonía adquirida en la comunidad en pacientes ancianos en estos consultorios donde se pudo ver que existió un predominio del grupo de edad mayor de 80 años y el sexo masculino. La fuente primaria de datos fue la historia clínica de los consultorios de médicos de familia y la entrevista directa con el paciente. Se utilizaron como medidas estadísticas descriptivas la distribución de frecuencia y el porcentaje; los resultados fueron tabulados y presentados en tablas
