Algunos aspectos importantes en el diagnóstico microbiológico de las dermatofitosis.

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo sobre los resultados del diagnóstico de laboratorio en pacientes con impresión clínica de dermatofitosis, atendidos tanto en el área de salud (Policlínico Previsora) como en la consulta de dermatología del Hospital Provincial Docente “Manuel Ascunce Doménech” (MAD), y que acudieron al laboratorio de microbiología a realizarse examen micológico entre Septiembre 2001 y Marzo 2002. El estudio abarca 121 pacientes. Se recogieron 146 muestras y se estudiaron por examen microscópico directo y cultivo. La mayoría de los pacientes procedían de la atención primaria, los adultos fueron los más afectados y la tiña de los pies la forma clínica más frecuente. El tratamiento previo influyó sobre los resultados de laboratorio. Se obtuvieron 91 muestras positivas al cultivo. Recomendamos la inclusión en la prevención de las dermatofitosis entre las actividades de promoción de salud.Palabras clave: DERMATOFITOSIS DIAGNOSTICO.
