Needs for the reflective use of complementary studies
Abstract
Formerly it was necessary to feel very sick to visit the doctor, today it is consulted more frequent bydifferent motives and causes. Let's think about the demand that carry “the education, prevention,
precocious diagnosis, the opportune treatment and the rehabilitation” fundamental props of the
community medicine. It is observed every day that emergency departments are small, beds are
missing in the hospitals, it is necessary to extend number and schedule in the offices. The anxiety, the
fear and the "urgencies" today installed and stimulated in the society seem impossible to be controlled
to attenuate the quantity of consultations that they generate. This situation has created the need to
increase the number of doctors. Which raises the expenses in health, that can be explained mainly for
the exorbitant quantity of requested diagnostic studies (many of them unnecessary), the growth of the
number of interventions realized (many of them unnecessary) and the uncontrolled use of medicines
(many of them unnecessary ).Phenomenon that is observed everywhere of the world. Our center does
not escape to what is mentioned before, that's why that the propose of this work is to emphasize the
need for the reflective use of complementary examinations for the diagnosis, prognosis and
therapeutics of the illnesses, it takes in consideration the risk - benefit and costs.
