Abstract

A descriptive observational study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the results achieved in the pre-medication of the pediatric patient using Midazolan. ASA children, ages between 7 and 14; who were selectively announced, were also administered 0.2mg/kg in 40 min., before and surgical procedure. Anxiety level was evaluated as well as the degree of cooperation before and after pre-medication, alterations of memory and reaction toward venous puncture. Generally speaking, it was found an excellent ansiolytic effect, cooperative behavior, amnesia. Good reaction toward venous puncture and only one patient with extremely low complications.
