Características de presentación de la tiroiditis crónica en el área sur de la provincia de Ciego de Ávila
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo para definir las características de presentación de la Tiroiditis Crónica de Hashimoto en el área sur de la provincia de Ciego de Ávila donde se diagnosticaron 157 pacientes por citología de aspiración por aguja fina (CAAF) desde junio del año 2001 a junio del 2006 que acudieron a la consulta multidisciplinaria de tiroides del hospital provincial docente Dr. “Antonio Luaces Iraola”. A los pacientes diagnosticados se les formuló una encuesta donde se plasmaron datos imprescindibles para el cumplimiento de los objetivos trazados como edad, sexo, antecedentes familiares de enfermedad tiroidea y de enfermedad autoinmune reconocida y personales de igual forma, la existencia de síntomas clínicos en el curso de la enfermedad y hallazgos citológicos mas representativos que apoyara el diagnóstico. En conclusión se confirma el predomino del sexo femenino en esta enfermedad, se evidencia la presencia de antecedentes familiares y personales tanto de enfermedades del orden tiroideo como de entidades autoinmunes asociadas, apoyando la descrita relación con estos procesos y la presencia de síntomas clínicos en más del 50 porciento de los pacientes diagnosticados en un momento de la evolución de esta enfermedad además de tomar como pauta los resultados citológicos representativos de este proceso y confirmado por nuestros citólogos en el estudio histológico realizados a nuestra muestraDownloads
