Ventilación mecánica en unidad de cuidados intensivos pedriatricos. Año 2006

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento de la ventilación mecánica en niños ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátrico (UCIP) del Hospital Provincial Docente Dr. “Antonio Luaces Iraola” en el año 2006 (330), para la realización del mismo se utilizaron como fuentes de información las historias clínicas y el libro de registro de la sala. Los datos obtenidos se procesaron manualmente, se analizaron por medidas de frecuencias y se presentaron en tablas estadísticas, obteniéndose los siguientes resultados: el 4.2% recibieron ventilación mecánica, el grupo de edad más frecuente ventilado fue el de menor de un año 6.3%, proceden el 28.5% del cuerpo de guardia, salas hospitalarias y el Hospital de Morón respectivamente, el 75% llegaron en estado crítico; la morbilidad que se ventila más frecuentemente son las afecciones quirúrgicas 42%, las sepsis 28.6% y las afecciones respiratorias 14.3%, recibieron tratamiento ventilatorio por más de 72 horas el 64.3%; el bloqueo aéreo, la neumonía nosocomial 28.5% y la hemorragia pulmonar más distress 14..2% fueron las principales complicaciones.
