Efficacy of homeopathic treatment combined with external fixator RALCA in open fractures
Abstract
Introduction: From the ancient fractures are a problem and by the technological and industrial development, its incidence has increased. Among these, open fractures have had wide variety of treatments. Materials and methods: To assess the efficacy of the treatment of patients with open fractures with RALCA external fixator combining homeopathic comfrey , Calcarea Phosphorica, a controlled clinical trial in 28 patients with fractures of the open long bones treated with this external fixator, from January 2011 to January, 2013, treated in Orthopedics and Traumatology service of Moron Hospital. It was created in a simple randomly way a study group and a control group of 14 cases, prior informed consent. Results: Fractures that predominated were those of Group 2 and 3-a from Gustilo and Anderson (46,43% and 36,71%); the affected segments were forearm and leg (46,43% and 42.86% respectively). From the control group were obtained excellent results (28.57%), good (35,71%), regular (28.57%) and no response (7.14%). In the study group, there were excellent (71,43%); good (21.43%); regular (7.14%). A full consolidation in 100% of patients in the study group and the control group with bone-building the focus of fracture by 50% or more 14.29%, with full consolidation in 78,57% of patients was observed in the x-ray. Conclusions: The Comfrey, calcarea phosphorica as an adjuvant drug in patients with open fractures treated with external fixator RALCA are effective in reducing the recovery time of patientsDownloads
