Limbic Encephalitis. Presentation of a case
Abstract
Limbic encephalitis is a paraneoplastic disease at a high percentage and the aim is to carried out the report of a secondary limbic encephalitis case to sepsis, in a 6-year-old girl, diagnosed by the clinic and Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy o f skull that she goes by behavior disorders, confusion, drowsiness, loss of vision and bilateral papilledema. The Computerized axial tomography of skull was negative and the study was completed with Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy of skull, it was treated with brain anti-edema, steroids and antibiotics, followed by the clinic and funduscopic examination with significant improvement of symptoms and gradual recovery of vision, the Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy was repeated at 3 and 6 months with negative results and good clinical evolution.
