Escoliosis congénita infantil. Reporte de un caso
Abstract
Las anomalías de la columna vertebral constituyen uno de los problemas musculoesqueléticos no traumáticos más frecuentes en pediatría. Pueden manifestarse en el nacimiento o desarrollarse durante la infancia o la adolescencia. Algunos de ellos se agravan con el crecimiento y pueden dar como resultado un aspecto físico inaceptable, alteraciones de la función pulmonar y una artrosis degenerativa precoz de la columna. En nuestro trabajo se presenta una niña de 20 meses de edad con escoliosis congénita infantil por hemivértebras que fue admitida en el servicio de pediatría del Hospital General Provincial Docente de Morón. Se destacan las manifestaciones clínicas y radiológica, así como la importancia de los estudios imagenológico para realizar un diagnóstico precoz y un tratamiento rápido como pilar esencial en la evolución de la deformidad congénita de la columna.
