Intervención educativa en la población femenina de 25 a 59 años sobre cáncer cervico uterino.

Abstract

Se realizó una intervención educativa sobre temas relacionados con el cáncer cervico uterino en la población femenina de 25 a 59 años del consultorio número 17 del área sur del municipio de morón.

Los resultados más importantes que se obtuvieron fueron: más del 70.0% de las mujeres investigadas se encuentran expuestas a los siguientes factores de riesgo de cáncer cervico uterino: edad entre 30 y 55 años, no práctica de alguna religión, comienzo de las relaciones sexuales antes de los 20 años y embarazos llegados a términos, menos del 40.0% a bajo nivel de escolaridad, promiscuidad, ITS, uso de anticonceptivos orales y hábito de fumar, el 87.85% de las mujeres refirió haberse realizado con anterioridad la prueba citológica después de aplicar el programa educativo se incrementó la frecuencia de mujeres que consideraban importante la realización de la prueba citológica, así como las que poseían conocimiento sobre la utilidad, la técnica de realización y la inocuidad de la misma, la falta de interés fue el motivo más frecuente de la no realización de la citología orgánica antes de la intervención; la asistencia de las mujeres a realizarse la prueba citológica aumentó en un 37.03% después de la intervención educativa, elevando el cumplimiento del Programa de diagnóstico precoz del cáncer cervico uterino de un 55.80% a un 92.82%.
