El médico : un profesional de la comunicación.
Abstract
La profesionalidad del médico no sólo supone una buena acumulación de conocimientos y experiencias para resolver las múltiples situaciones que se presentan cada día, sino también el dominio preciso y científicamente fundamentado de las técnicas que hacen que el proceso de comunicación que se produce entre el médico y sus pacientes sea altamente efectiva. El conocimiento de la teoría de la comunicación y el desarrollo de hábitos y habilidades comunicativas se hace entonces imprescindibles para la formación integral de nuestros profesionales de la salud. La comunicación establecida en el marco de los servicios médicos entre el usuario de salud por una parte y el médico por la otra no es espontáneo sino que está predeterminada por los respectivos papeles asumidos por ambos en esa singular relación. Es responsabilidad del médico dirigir el proceso de comunicación, dado que su preparación técnica debe capacitarlo para esa tarea primordial.
