Noma. Presentación de 3 casos.
Abstract
Se presentan tres casos de Noma en niños atendidos en el servicio de pediatría del Hospital Simao Mendes en la República de Guinea Bissau, con edades de 3,5 y 6 años respectivamente. En los niños se constataron antecedentes de Paludismo, Sarampión, Malnutrición, signos de avitaminosis indistintamente en un medio socioeconómico adverso. Fue signo constante, el hallazgo de lesión en mucosa gingival, labio y mejilla, con pérdidas de las estructuras óseas y muscular en maxilar, labio, nariz, órbita, con gran fetidez. Un paciente perdió la visión de ambos ojos, todos salvaron la vida y quedaron en espera de cirugía reconstructiva.
