Variables clínicas en pacientes con SDRA con o sin aplicación de la ventilación protectora.
Abstract
En la unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Provincial de Ciego de Avila se realizó un estudio desde Enero de 1998 hasta Marzo del 2002, ventilándose a 77 pacientes con SDRA, dividiéndose en dos grupos: A (estrategia protectora de ventilación) y B (ventilación convencional). Las causas principales se SDRA fueron el abdomen agudo 42,1%, las infecciones 38% y el politraumatismo 10,5%. La caracterización de ambos grupos en cuanto a edad y etiología extrapulmonar y pulmonar de esta enfermedad resultó homogénea haciendo comparable a los mismos. La supervivencia al alta hospitalaria fue superior en el grupo A (62,5% vs. 40,5%) pero sin significación estadística. Los ventilados con estrategia protectora permanecieron menor número de días con VMA, teniendo este resultado significación estadística. Sólo dos casos del grupo B sufrieron barotrauma por lo que no hubo diferencia al comparar esta variable.
