Se presenta la I parte de un artículo de revisión sobre las Neoplasias de la Glándula Tiroidea en el que se evalúa su diagnóstico y tratamiento enfatizando la importancia del nódulo tiroideo como punto de partida a considerar en el origen de las mismas y donde el cáncer constituye el problema fundamental a dilucidar mediante la utilización de diferentes métodos diagnósticos incluyendo las pruebas de función tiroidea, la ecografía, la gammagrafía y la citología aspirativa por aguja fina como complementarios indispensables para confirmar la entidad en estudio. Además aborda la conducta y el seguimiento post operatorio de los carcinomas diferenciados (papilar y folicular), como principales exponentes de las neoformaciones malignas de la glándula tiroides.Downloads
