Abstract

A parasitologic study was done from May to June, 2001 to children studying in Primary School José Antonio Echeverría from Ciego de Avila municipality whose ages were among 5 and 11 years to know the behaviour of giardia lamblia. In all cases 3 heces samples were taken to which the Ritchie’s concentrations methods and the inmunoenzimatic assay in solid phose to detect coproantigens of G lamblia normalized in the laboratory of intestinal parasitism of the Tropical Medicine Institute "Pedro Kouri" The values of ELISA’s sensibility and especificity which were 100% and 88.75% respectively. This results reassure the diagnostic value of the ELISA used.
