Health state of patients who attend the "Grandparents’ Club" of Majagua municipality

Abstract

An observational, descriptive cross-sectional study was performed, involving 25 elderly patients that attend the so-called "Grandparents’ Club", during the first year. Buccal health was the primary concern. Data of the summary of EMAG, existing in the unit, were analized; such summary was previously made by the authors of the research and a questionnaire on buccal health was administered using the Analysis of the Situation of Buccal Health data, once the information was gathered, it was statistically completed by absolute numbers and percentages. Summing up, most of the patients were male, they belong to the dispensary 3rd group, they are slender (36%), hypertensive (92%), needs prosthesis, one whole prosthesis calling for change, which has provoked 13 lessions at oral mucosa; issues that are being solved from the educative and therapeutic viewpoints.
