Keywords:
IATROGENI DISEASE, , TOOTH EXTRACTIONAbstract
A cross-descriptive study of school children, ages 8-9, both sexes was done, from the "Alfredo Alvarez Mola" day-boarding school of the municipality of Ciego de Avila, from February te March of the year 2001, aiming at determining the most frequent alterations caused by early extractions of lower temporal canine teeth as part of a plan of serial extractions and its comparison with a study carried out by an author from the Granma day-boarding school of the Municipality of Camaguey during the period of time from February to March 1999. A sample of 31 patients was taken and a form filled out with general specific data acco rding to the objetives. It was shown that most of the school children had early extractions of lowex temporal canine teeth performed, convex profile and increasing inclusions were predominant, to coincide with obtained data by other authors.
A plan of serial extractions is recommended to be performed, taking into consideration the established requirements so as to select the patients: a correct individual diagnosis, and get it started not before 8 years of age.
