The Papillon-Lefevre Syndrome Presentation of two cases

The study of two cases of Papillon-Lefevre syndrome are introduced. In this trial the palmo-plantar hyperkeratosis was present and confirmed by the dermatologist, as well as the presence of periodontoplasia confirmed by the periodontist. The histopathological study showed a marked chronic inflammation of the lateral wall of the periodontal pocket, intense osteoclastic activity and a deficit of the osteoblastic one. The cementum was scarse but at the apical area, in which celular cementum was identified. Surgical treatment was performed in these patients, including, scaling , as well as sessions of tartrectomy every week treated with vitamins and antibiotics. These treatments lasted for 6 months, being controlled by the periodontist for two years with satisfactory results.Downloads
