Dr. Roberto Martínez Reyes, un ejemplo a seguir.
Abstract
El presente trabajo aborda aspectos biográficos de la vida y obra del Dr. Roberto Martínez Reyes, médico avileño que se caracterizó por un alto valor humano que supo cumplir exitosamente la ardua tarea de la medicina. Como base fundamental para su elaboración, se realizaron búsquedas en periódicos y revistas de la época y entrevistas a familiares, amistades personales e historiadores de la ciudad. La vida del eminente médico se enmarca entre los años 1893 a 1941, destacando su labor como médico posterior a 1927 cuando aún realizaba sus estudios en París hasta el momento en que le sorprende la muerte en su ciudad natal, donde entregó lo mejor de su obra en bienestar de su pueblo que lo consideró como su incansable benefactor.
