Dilemas bioeticos del diagnóstico prenatal.
Abstract
El diagnóstico genético prenatal para detectar enfermedades sin curas, no compatibles con la vida o que no incapacitan para una vida con autonomía y dignidad y cuyo resultado probable es el aborto, plantean serios debates en el contexto de las diferentes culturas. Por la actualidad del tema y su vigencia, en este trabajo se realiza a través de una revisión bibliográfica una valoración de la interrelación de la bioética con el diagnóstico prenatal y su situación en Cuba. Al analizar los dilemas bioéticos generales y particulares del diagnóstico genético prenatal, consideramos que el objetivo fundamental de este debe ser dar seguridad cuando el feto es sano y brindar información, pronóstico y elección reproductiva cuando está afectado, por tanto debe ser enfocado como un apoyo a la pareja según sus propios valores y objetivos.
