Carcinoma basal. Revisión bibliográfica.

Abstract

El carcinoma basal o basocelular es el cáncer  más frecuente de los seres humanos, se considera  una neoplásica maligna de bajo grado de malignidad que se origina en las células básales de la epidermis y en las derivadas del folículo pilosebáceo. Su prevalencia es mayor en regiones tropicales y sub tropicales donde el sol incide durante mas horas y mayor número de días al año. Pese a tratarse de un tumor maligno metastiza excepcionalmente esto hace que se le denomine también basalioma o epitelioma Basocelular, haciendo referencia a su carácter mas benigno en relación con otros canceres cutáneos donde las metástasis si son frecuentes. En nuestro medio constituye uno de los motivos de consulta dermatológica más frecuente.
