Presentación de casos de Tétanos.
Abstract
Se presenta una serie de 7 casos de tétanos ocurridos en Malí, país donde cumplió misión internacionalista el Dr. Francisco Aparicio Álvarez en el año 2001. En esta descripción de casos donde se utilizan tablas, se demuestra que esta enfermedad es más frecuente en el sexo masculino y en trabajadores del campo, en quienes las heridas pueden contaminarse con facilidad con los clostridios. Caracterizada por una estadía hospitalaria de más de 48 horas para los que sobrevivieron. Las manifestaciones clínicas más frecuentes fueron en el 100% de los casos; trismo, diaforesis, fiebre, disfagia, las complicaciones más frecuentes, como lo recoge la literatura, fueron las respiratorias y las del sistema nervioso autónomo.
