Mortalidad preescolar y escolar en la provincia Ciego de Avila durante el periodo 1998-2004.
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo retrospectivo de tipo mortalidad proporcional. Nuestro universo de estudio estuvo constituido por 233 defunciones en niños de edad preescolar y escolar en la provincia de Ciego de Avila durante el periodo 1998-2004. Se estudió la tendencia histórica de la mortalidad preescolar y escolar, así como las principales causas de muertes; los datos fueron obtenidos de los registros de mortalidad del Departamento de Estadística de la Dirección Provincial de Salud, se concluyó que la mortalidad preescolar y escolar ha tenido una tendencia descendente y que las principales causas de muerte en ambos grupos de edad son los accidentes, anomalías congénitas y los tumores.
