Intervención educativa para modificar conocimientos sobre salud bucal en escolares de cuarto grado.
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio intervención educativa para modificar los conocimientos sobre salud bucal en ochenta alumnos de cuarto grado del centro escolar “ José Antonio Echeverría “ de Ciego de Ávila, durante el segundo semestre del curso 2003-2004 y el primero del 2004-2005, para lo cual se aplicó una entrevista que contenía veinte preguntas relacionadas con higiene bucal, caries, dieta cariogénica, flúor e incluyo el índice de higiene bucal y el examen bucal, que sirvió para valorar la información que poseían y el nivel de higiene bucal antes y tres meses después de la aplicación de un programa educativo denominado “Sonríe con Salud” el cual contó con técnicas educativas y afectivas participativas, apoyadas con otros medios como juegos, láminas demostrativas y concursos de dibujos. La evaluación efectuada tres meses después de la intervención reveló la eficacia de la misma en la adquisición y modificación de hábitos y conocimientos sobre salud bucal.
