Comportamiento de algunos factores clínicos epidemiológicos en el cáncer laríngeo en Ciego de Ávila.
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio transversal descriptivo en los hospitales provinciales de Ciego de Ávila y Morón a 42 pacientes con cáncer laríngeo, que fueron atendidos en los Servicios de Otorrinolaringología durante el período de octubre de 1996 a octubre de 1998, para analizar el comportamiento de algunos factores clínico-epidemiológicos en estos pacientes. Observamos una mayor incidencia en el sexo masculino, sexta década de la vida y grupo racial blanco, el hábito de fumar y el alcoholismo se encontraron en más de la mitad de los casos, la disfonía fue el síntoma más frecuente, el tipo histológico que predominó fue el carcinoma epidermoide bien diferenciado y el diagnóstico del mayor número de pacientes fue realizado en estadíos tempranos. El cáncer laríngeo no se presentó en ocupaciones específicas, ningún paciente infiere poseer antecedentes de cáncer laríngeo y la mayoría no presentaron antecedentes de lesiones precancerosas laríngeas.
