Conducta a seguir ante una lesión hepática focal reportada por imagenología. Parte I
Abstract
La lesión hepática focal constituye una formación de contenido sólido o líquido que no forma parte de la arquitectura anatómica normal de la glándula hepática, de naturaleza muy variada y curso benigno o maligno. Representa un hallazgo frecuente, debido al creciente empleo de técnicas de imagen en pacientes que presentan sintomatología abdominal inespecífica. A priori, esta lesión incidental crea un verdadero ambiente de preocupación para pacientes y familiares y un reto para el médico de asistencia, quién tendrá la responsabilidad de organizar un plan diagnóstico para desentrañar su verdadera etiología .En el presente artículo se reportan las posibilidades diagnósticas más frecuentes, así como la estrategia recomendada para esclarecer su origen. Por su extensión e importancia se subdivide en dos partes, la primera abordará las lesiones de contenido líquido y sólidas, de origen benigno y en la segunda parte las lesiones malignas.
