Infección del tractus urinario. Revisión bibliográfica.

Abstract

La infección del tractus urinario es un proceso inflamatorio determinado por la invasión y multiplicación de cualquier microorganismo, desde la uretra hasta el riñón, representa un problema de salud frecuente no siempre bien tratado y ocupan el segundo lugar en las infecciones atendidas en la medicina de la familia, sólo son superadas por las infecciones respiratorias. Afectando con más frecuencia al sexo femenino donde tienen una elevada tendencia a recidivar y a convertirse en resistentes al uso de antimicrobianos. Generalmente las infecciones de orina están producidas por gérmenes que se encuentran en el intestino grueso y el más frecuente es la Escherichia Coli; no tratadas correctamente pueden causar serios problemas a nivel renal pudiendo dañarlo de forma permanente para toda la vida.
