Bronquiolitis severa tratada en la unidad de cuidados intensivos pediátricos de Ciego de Avila, 2004-2005

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo retrospectivo de corte transversal con objeto de determinar el comportamiento de los pacientes ingresados en Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátricos (UCIP) con diagnóstico de Bronquiolitis Severa (40) en el Hospital General Provincial Docente “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola” en los años 2004-2005. Para la realización del mismo se utilizaron como fuente de información las historias clínicas y el libro de registro de la sala. Los datos obtenidos se procesaron manualmente, se analizaron por medida de frecuencia y se presentaron en tablas estadísticas obteniéndose los siguientes resultados: el mayor número de pacientes procedían del servicio de respiratorio (28) y de ellos llegaron con reporte de crítico el 28.6%; el 45% de los pacientes estuvo ingresado en UCIP entre las 24-.72 horas. El 67.5% de los niños estaban evaluados con una relación peso/talla entre el 10-90 percentil; el 25% recibió ventilación mecánica controlada y el 12.5% ventilación asistida y solo un 25% de nuestro universo no fue tratado con antibioticoterapia.
