Abstract

Se presenta un caso de traumatismo violento en la región anterior del tórax, resultado de la colisión de
la misma contra el volante, el cual fue tratado con inmovilización de las partes blandas torácicas con
alambres de Kirschner pasados de manera oblicua, con estabilización de la caja torácica y
mejoramiento de las funciones ventilatorias, lográndose la retirada oportuna de la intubación
endotraqueal. La severidad de los traumatismos sufridos por el paciente lo convierten en un caso
infrecuente y permite reflexionar sobre estas formas de tratamiento y su aplicación en casos similares
