Ventilación prolongada. Comportamiento en nuestra unidad
Abstract
Se revisaron los expedientes clínicos y libro de registros de pacientes ventilados de nuestra unidad seleccionando los pacientes de más de siete días de ventilación desde enero de 1997 hasta el diciembre del 2004 considerando éstos dentro de la ventilación prolongada, se clasificaron según grupos etéreos, sexo, complicaciones causa de la ventilación y estado al egreso. Se confeccionaron tablas, se analizaron mediante el método de los % y las mismas arrojaron los siguientes resultados: Se estudiaron 166 pacientes de ellos 96 del sexo femenino, las edades de 56 a 75 años arrojaron un mayor número de pacientes, la neumonía fue la complicación más frecuente, y el Síndrome de Distréss Respiratorio Agudo fue la causa de mayor número de ventilados, el mayor número se ventiló por un período de 7-15 días, la mortalidad fue de un 43.3 %.
