Morbimortalidad en la unidad de cuidados intensivos pediátricos. Año 2006
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo para determinar el comportamiento de la morbimortalidad en los niños ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátricos (UCIP) del Hospital General Docente Dr. “Antonio Luaces Iraola” en el año 2006. Utilizamos como fuente de información las historias clínicas y el libro de registro de la sala, los datos obtenidos se procesaron manualmente y se analizaron por medidas de frecuencia presentándolos en tablas estadísticas, obteniéndose los siguientes resultados : Los grupos de edades con más ingresos fueron 1-4 años (40.9%) y menores de un año (29.1%). El 53 % proceden de las salas hospitalarias y el 42.4 % del cuerpo de guardia. Las morbilidades más frecuentes fueron las afecciones respiratorias (23.6%). (Tabla 3). El 15.6% de los menores de un año se encontró en evaluación nutricional por debajo del 3 percentil. La letalidad del servicio fue de 2.7, la del menor de un año 5.2. La letalidad por sepsis fue de 19, seguida por las infecciones del sistema nervioso central con 3.2.
