Ultrasonografía en la detección de cuerpos extraños en tejidos blandos. Presentación de casos. Año 2006
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo en el período de un año con el objetivo de determinar el valor de la ultrasonografía de alta resolución (USAR) en la detección de cuerpos extraños en tejidos blandos. Los casos presentados fueron remitidos por otros colegas con el diagnóstico de sospecha de cuerpo extraño. A todos se le realizó el proceder diagnóstico y además a cinco de ellos se les tomó una radiografía plana; la cual fue positiva en un caso. En todos los casos se demostró el cuerpo extraño por USAR. La confirmación diagnóstica se hizo absoluta después de la escisión quirúrgica del mismo. Los cuerpos extraños mostraron un patrón sonográfico similar: ecogénicos, rodeados de un halo hipoecogénico y sombra acústica posterior, con la excepción del metal que mostró reverberación posterior. Se demostró la utilidad del USAR en la detección de cuerpos extraños en tejidos blandos por encima de la radiografía plana.
