Carcinoma epidermoide de conjuntiva. Presentación de un caso

Abstract

El carcinoma epidermoide de células escamosas es el tumor maligno más frecuente de la conjuntiva que se presenta en el limbo o en el área de la fisura interpalpebral. Este tumor rompe la capa basal con invasión profunda del estroma y fijación a tejidos subyacentes. El retraso en el diagnóstico hace que la cirugía sea difícil. Presentamos un caso de una paciente con diagnóstico de carcinoma epidermoide de conjuntiva confirmado por el departamento de Anatomía Patológica que luego de tratamiento quirúrgico hace una recidiva alcanzando dimensiones gigantescas
