Las infecciones respiratorias agudas, una problemática cada vez más creciente

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de series cronológicas de la morbilidad por infecciones
respiratorias agudas en la provincia Ciego de Ávila. La fuente de información fueron las series
temporales obtenidas en la Dirección Provincial de Estadística de Salud, con la finalidad de
conocer cual es el comportamiento histórico de las infecciones respiratorias agudas en la provincia
de Ciego de Ávila, así como su pronóstico para los próximos 3 años, además de establecer su
vigilancia a través de un corredor endémico. La tendencia de las infecciones respiratorias agudas
en la provincia en el período 2000-2008 es francamente en ascenso; sin embargo, la estimación
puntual para los próximos 3 años es a la disminución, hasta la semana 25 se han diagnosticados
96673 casos, lo que de seguir a ese ritmo, sin contar con los meses de mayor pico, se espera que
el año 2009 termine por encima de los 314 174 casos, aproximadamente más de 150000 casos
por encima de lo pronosticado y muy alejado del límite superior del intervalo de confianza en más
de 117000 casos. En lo que va de año todas las semanas han transitado por la zona epidémica,
muy acorde con el alza de infecciones respiratorias agudas que está ocurriendo en el mundo y en
la provincia
