Mielomeningocele con malformación de Arnold Chiari tipo II. Presentación de un caso.
Abstract
El mielomeningocele representa la forma más grave de los disrafismos de la columna vertebral y aparece con una incidencia de aproximadamente 1 caso cada 1000 nacidos vivos. La causa del mielomeningocele se desconoce, pero como en todos los defectos de cierre del tubo neural existe una predisposición genética. Al menos un 90% de los pacientes con mielomeningocele tienen hidrocefalia asociada a una malformación de Chiari tipo II.
