Morbimortalidad en la sala de terapia intensiva del centro diagnóstico integral del municipio Bejuma
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo de tipo transversal dirigido a conocer lamorbimortalidad de los pacientes ingresados en la unidad de terapia intensiva del Centro
Diagnóstico Integral, Bejuma, del Estado Carabobo, durante el período comprendido del primero
de julio del 2007 hasta el 30 de junio del 2009. El universo de estudio estuvo representado por
386 pacientes adultos mayores de 18 años que ingresaron en la unidad de terapia intensiva en el
período antes mencionado. Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron describir el comportamiento de la
morbimortalidad de los pacientes ingresados en la unidad de terapia intensiva. Los principales
resultados fueron: el sexo femenino y el grupo de edad de 60 o más años fueron los más
afectados, el 82.4% de los ingresados fueron de especialidad clínica, la neumonía fue la principal
causa de ingreso clínico, la principal causa de ingreso quirúrgico fue la secuela postoperatoria de
hernias, el 94.8% de los pacientes egresaron vivos, la neumonía fue la principal causa de muerte
