Riesgo de infecciones respiratorias agudas en la población infantil del municipio Ciego de Ávila
Abstract
Se diseñó una investigación observacional analítica de casos y controles con el objetivo de identificar algunas variables asociadas con la incidencia de infecciones respiratorias agudas en niños menores de cinco años. La muestra de los casos (179) se conformó con el 5% de la incidencia acumulada de infecciones respiratorias agudas en los menores de 5 años durante el primer semestre del año 2009 de los consultorios médicos del municipio Ciego de Ávila a los que les correspondieron dos controles (358). Los datos se obtuvieron de una entrevista con la madre de los casos y los controles. Se realizó un análisis bivariado y se controlaron los factores de confusión utilizando la regresión logística dicotómica. El hábito de fumar durante el embarazo, bajo peso al nacer, asma bronquial, cardiopatía congénita, enfermedades parasitarias, alto índice de hacinamiento y las malas condiciones socioeconómicas mostraron asociación significativa con la infección respiratoria aguda en el análisis bruto. El modelo multivariado final identificó a los factores de riesgo: antecedentes patológicos personales de enfermedad parasitaria, antecedentes patológicos personales de asma bronquial, más de 20 cigarrillos consumidos diariamente por la madre y los antecedentes patológicos personales de cardiopatía congénita como los de mayor exceso de riesgo adjudicable a este síndromeDownloads
