Estudio epidemiológico de la mortalidad por cáncer
Abstract
Se realizó una investigación epidemiológica observacional descriptiva para conocer el comportamiento de algunas variables con relación al riesgo de morir por cáncer en la provincia Ciego de Avila durante el decenio 1990 – 1999. El cáncer representó el 18.7 % del total de mortalidad; el sexo masculino y el grupo de edad de 70 años o más fueron los más representados en la mortalidad; las localizaciones más frecuentes para ambos sexos fueron tráquea, bronquio y pulmón, seguido en el hombre por el cáncer de próstata y en la mujer por el cáncer de mama y útero (cuerpo y cuello); más de la mitad de los fallecidos en este período tuvieron como lugar de fallecimiento el domicilio; al 77.5 % de los fallecidos no se le realizó estudio necrológico; las mujeres mostraron una tasa promedial de AVPP entre 1 y 64 años de 6.3 x 103 y los hombres una tasa promedial de 5.7 x 103; los años de mayores tasas brutas de mortalidad por cáncer fueron 1993 y 1999 y las tasas brutas de mortalidad por cáncer estimadas para el año 2000 y el 2001 fueron de 146.7 x 105 y 155.1 x 105 respectivamente.Downloads
