Caracterización epidemiológica del dengue en Ciego de Ávila
Abstract
Se realizó una investigación observacional descriptiva para caracterizar epidemiológicamente la epidemia de dengue ocurrida en la provincia de Ciego de Ávila en el año 2006; el universo estuvo representado por el total de casos confirmados de dengue; se evaluaron indicadores epidemiológicos que caracterizaron la epidemia como: sobremorbilidad en el sexo femenino y la población adulta. Correspondió a la semana estadística 26 el punto de inflexión epidémica y a la semana 38 el punto de deflexión, a partir del cual los casos disminuyeron progresivamente hasta el control total del evento. La importancia relativa del síndrome febril con relación a los casos confirmados mostró cualidades de trazador en situaciones epidémicas para este indicador. El proceso de estratificación del riesgo de transmisión designó a los municipios de Morón, Ciego de Ávila, Venezuela y Baraguá como los territorios que por más tiempo mantuvieron la condición de “alto riesgo”.
